DONATIONS

TCRAS relies on donations for the majority of our funding. Our mandate as a no-kill shelter costs more than the alternative. Although TCRAS serves as the Teller County animal shelter, our services to Teller County Animal Control represent only part of our mission and provide only a small portion of our budget. All donations to TCRAS, an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, whether monetary or products, are tax deductible. An in-kind donation receipt can be obtained from the TCRAS office.
We will gladly accept your financial contributions by mail or in person, whether as cash, checks or credit card. We also especially appreciate gift cards from: Home Depot, Lowe’s, Wal-Mart, Safeway, PetCo, PetsMart, Staples, or Office Depot.
Products that the pets continually need include: biscuits and treats for both dogs and cats and chew toys, like kongs and nylabones for the dogs The cats like catnip toys and things to chase like flutterballs and wildstreaks. They also need cat litter and grass kits for their kennels. Recycled towels and blankets can have a new life at TCRAS. Cat litter is always needed!
Paper products such as paper towels, toilet paper, and either white or colored printer paper will help the office operate.
Product donations can be dropped off at the shelter. If you have an especially bulky donation and need help getting it to the shelter, please call and we may be able to assist you.
The shelter address for mailing and dropping products off is:

VOLUNTEERING

Your time is a treasured gift to the pets. If you can come on a regular basis, so much the better, but the pets and the staff value any time you can give. Volunteer tasks include walking dogs on a leash, brushing, playing, petting and socializing with the pets, cleaning dog or cat kennels or shoveling snow from outdoor kennels. You can make a difference at TCRAS by reminding a pet that it is loved while it waits for its new home, with a simple gesture like letting a shelter cat sit on your lap while you pet it.
Call TCRAS to discuss what you would like to do and when you are available. Volunteers between the ages of 16 and 18 must have a parent or guardian’s written consent. A parent or legal guardian must accompany volunteers who are under 16 years of age while they are volunteering, in addition to the written consent.
Please Call TCRAS at 686-7707 or stop by the shelter to see the opportunities that await.
WISH LIST
We are in immediate need of a newer-model, four-wheel drive SUV, to provide dependable transportation for our pets to and from veterinarians and adoption fairs.
We have a dream of creating a sanctuary for the pets that move through our new shelter. We wish for a healthy environment which meets their natural needs, so that they can be happy and safe. Our dogs need a much larger outdoor area to run, play and interact. The kitties need more room for activity, away from the dogs. Our dream shelter already has been designed. We need a new site and money for the building to implement our plans.
We need benefactors! If you can help us financially or conceptually, please contact TCRAS.
On behalf of all our pets we thank you for visiting our donations page.
